GEN-E Montenegro is the national competition for student companies and startup teams organized by Junior Achievement Montenegro, as part of the global Junior Achievement Worldwide network. The competition brings together high school students and university students from across the country who develop their own business ideas, products and services through educational programs, gaining practical experience in running a company.
During the competition, participants present the results of a year's work developing their student companies, through trade fair product presentations, stage presentations of business models, interviews with expert jury members and conversations with potential investors. The program enables young people to develop entrepreneurial, communication and teamwork skills, and to test their ideas in a real business environment.
The competition brings together representatives of the education system, business, startup community and institutions that support entrepreneurship development. The most successful teams get the opportunity to represent Montenegro at the GEN-E European Youth Entrepreneurship Festival, which each year gathers the best student companies from across Europe in one of Europe's capitals.
In 2026, for the first time, mini companies will be presented at the same competition, as a result of the pilot project implemented by students and teachers of primary schools across Montenegro.
